📖 Hotel Central Background
🏨 Built in 1931 in Art Deco style by architect Casper Melchior Balthasar van den Beld, on the site of the former Café-Restaurant Albert Janssen.
🎭 During WWI, Café Janssen was a meeting place for Theo van Doesburg and fellow artists, where they hosted Dadaist soirées intimes. Early concepts for the magazine De Stijl (founded in 1917) were sketched here.
🖼️ In 2023, Hotel Central was renovated, and each of its 21 rooms was named after a De Stijl or Dada artist, featuring unique wall coverings, quotes, and artistic accents.
✍️ Theo van Doesburg (1883–1931) – Known for merging De Stijl and Dada, his designs and writings are honored in Room 17, which features motifs from his L’Aubette design in Strasbourg and a quote from a personal letter to Antony Kok.
🌍 Van Doesburg’s time in Tilburg was a turning point: shocked by WWI refugee stories, he shifted toward experimental art and literature, laying the foundation for De Stijl.

The accommodation provided by Suus enjoys a very favorable location, in front of the station but not for this reason
noisy, enjoys good external lighting, clean and tidy. Communication is always quick and timely. From home
The town center is just a few hundred meters away, the station is opposite and is served by frequent connections and multiple urban and interurban bus lines. Suus is extremely helpful and precise.
What else can I say? If we go back to Tilburg, we will definitely come back to visit him!

Suus was a great host for my guest for two months. Always responsive and reachable even at very late hours. The studio was true to the description, with good sound isolation, in the city center and even had a little balcony. Would highly recommand staying with Suus if you're visiting Tilburg and regions for a few days !

Suus helped me very well during some check in problems with the lock/code. She thought of a solution as quickly as possible and made me feel welcome and respected as a guest. The apartment is very comfortable, close to the centre and station and the apartment is functional and comfortable.

The location is in central Tilburg. The cozy studio has everything you need. The only drawback I found was the noise from the air conditioner, which was unbelievably loud.
